Prime Minister Modi expressed grief over the demise of Sharda Sinha

She was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and was put on ventilator since Monday. Prime Minister Modi had talked to Sharda Sinha’s son Anshuman Sinha and AIIMS director on Tuesday morning and inquired about her health.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of renowned folk singer Sharda and said that her demise is an irreparable loss to the music world. Prime Minister Modi said in a post on Twitter, “Extremely saddened by the demise of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha ji.” The Maithili and Bhojpuri folk songs sung by him have been very popular for the last several decades.

He said, the echo of his melodious songs related to the great festival of faith, Chhath, will always remain. His demise is an irreparable loss to the music world. My thoughts are with his family and fans in this hour of mourning. Om Shanti!
