Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday seized property worth Rs 1 crore in Sopore area to crack down on terrorist activities. Police seized a two-storey house of Aamir Rashid Lone, an associate of terrorists, in Rashidabad of Bomai area and also confiscated his 15 marla (4080 square feet) land, a police spokesperson said.
He said the seizure was made after obtaining approval from the competent authority under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The spokesperson said the asset was seized as part of ongoing efforts to stop economic and military support to terrorist organizations and their supporters.
He said, this action sends a strong message that law enforcement agencies will not relent in their efforts against those who are trying to undermine peace and stability.
