Ritu Nanda, daughter of late actor and director Raj Kapoor, died late on Monday night. 71-year-old Ritu was suffering from cancer. Ritu was counted among the top insurance agents of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). He has a world record of selling 17000 LIC pension plans in one day.
Ritu was married to Rajan Nanda, former chairman of Escorts Group. Ritu stayed away from Bollywood glamor and became an independent entrepreneur. According to news agency IANS, Ritu Nanda started the journey of becoming an entrepreneur with the household appliances business. But it was later ruined.
He then tried his luck in the insurance sector, where he set new records and set up his own company, Ritu Nanda Insurance Services (RNIS). Ritu Nanda’s name came in the Guinness Book of World Records when he sold 17000 pension policies in one day.
Won many awards
She has been an insurance consultant to many Bollywood celebrities for over 40 years. Ritu Nanda created many new insurance records and for this he received many awards. These include the ‘Best Insurer Advisor of the Decade’ award from LIC. Ritu Nanda also handled Escolife and Rimari Corporate Art Services companies. His son Nikhil Nanda is married to Shweta Bachchan, daughter of Amitabh Bachchan.
