Nalasopara constituency, currently represented by BVA MLA Kshitij Thakur, is witnessing a contest between BJP’s Rajan Naik and Congress’s Sandeep Pandey.

A day before voting for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, high voltage drama took place in Virar when BVA and BJP workers clashed in the presence of BJP leader Vinod Tawde. BJP General Secretary Tawde has been accused by rival BVA of distributing cash in exchange for votes. The video of the ruckus between BJP and BVA workers has surfaced on the internet. BVA leaders allege that Vinod Tawde was distributing Rs 5 crore to BJP workers in the meeting. The leaders claim that the police have found a diary in which there is a noting of distribution of money.

Nalasopara constituency, currently represented by BVA MLA Kshitij Thakur, is witnessing a contest between BJP’s Rajan Naik and Congress’s Sandeep Pandey. Despite BVA’s previous support to Mahayuti with its three MLAs in 2019, BVA president Hitendra Thakur questioned the presence of an ‘outsider’ politician in Virar after the campaign kicked off. According to BVA members, they received information about Tawde organizing a meeting at Vivant Hotel in Manvelpada, where Naik and local BJP leaders were present.

The workers alleged that they saw Tawde distributing money among the people present. Thakur claimed that Tawde had Rs 5 crore and two diaries with names on them. The BVA alleged that the main gate of the hotel was closed while Tawde was holding a meeting inside. BVA has expressed concern over webcasting at all 507 polling stations in Nalasopara constituency. This area includes one of the two important polling stations in Palghar district. In Vasai constituency, Thakur is facing BJP candidate Sneha Dubey. Webcasting has been done at 93% booths in Vasai. Thakur claimed that Tawde called and apologized for his presence in Virar. He urged police and election officials to address alleged violations of the election code.
