Ruckus over beating of Bihari students in Bengal, accused arrested, TMC said - this is a local matter

Bihari students beaten in Bengal.

The issue of assault on students from Bihar seems to be gaining momentum in Siliguri, West Bengal. BJP MP and Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Union Minister Chirag Paswan have also demanded action on this matter. BJP has once again attacked the Mamata government over the beating of students. At the same time, TMC is trying to distance itself by calling this beating a local matter. However, as the matter gained momentum, Bengal Police has arrested Rajat Bhattacharya, the main accused in the incident.

What is the whole matter?

In Siliguri, Bengal, the havoc of the hate gang has wreaked havoc on the students of Bihar who had gone to appear for the Staff Selection Commission General Duty examination. It is being told that Ankit Yadav, a resident of Danapur, Bihar, and one of his friends were sleeping in a room in Siliguri, when some people entered their room. Took both of them forcefully and started asking questions. They started threatening them by calling them outsiders. These people started threatening the students by claiming to be from Bengal Police, while some were threatening them by claiming to be from IB and demanding to show their documents.

Ruckus after the video went viral

The boys repeatedly tried to convince these people that they would leave Siliguri, but the bullies started holding them by the ears and making them do sit-ups. The courage of the students breaks in front of the threats from the bullies and finally both of them fall at their feet and start apologizing but this also has no effect on the bullies. These people, who forcibly entered the room, not only assaulted and abused these students but also made a video of it and uploaded it on social media. After the video went viral, there was a stir from Bengal to Bihar.

the accused was arrested

Following the complaint of Bihar Police, Siliguri Police has arrested Rajat Bhattacharya, who assaulted the students. Rajat Bhattacharya is a member of an organization named Bangla Pakho. Siliguri police station is interrogating the accused. This organization had earlier also launched a campaign to remove signboards written in Hindi in West Bengal. Accused Rajat Bhattacharya says that youth from Bihar and UP are coming for SSC exam with fake certificates and are snatching the jobs of their people.

TMC said it was a local matter

After the video of assault on students of Bihar went viral, politics is going on over it. While Giriraj Singh has cornered Mamata Banerjee on this matter, TMC has termed Giriraj’s allegations as false. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said that every citizen of the country is welcome in West Bengal, there is no opposition to anyone. Kunal Ghosh said that the video in question is a local matter and the Bengal Police is investigating the matter.
