Runway testing of Noida International Airport postponed, now likely to be conducted from November 30

The proposed test for Friday on the runway of Noida International Airport being built at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district was postponed due to non-receipt of permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). An officer gave this information.

The official said that now the testing is likely to take place from November 30 and due to this, the timing of commercial operations of the airport may also be changed.

After the calibration report was approved, preparations were made to start the tests on the runway from November 15, under which it was planned to land and take off three aircraft each of the airlines Indigo and Akasa daily.

Dr. Arunveer Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), said, “Due to lack of permission from DGSA, the take-off test of the proposed Noida International Airport from November 15 has been postponed. It is expected that the trial will start from November 30. Preparations are being made accordingly.

After completion of testing, aerodrome license will be issued by DGCA, only after which the airport will be ready for commercial operations. The aircraft ‘Beech King Air 360ER’ flew over the complex from 10 to 14 October to check the ‘Instrument Lighting System’ installed at the airport.
