The district administration and police team also opposed the entry of such people but their objection was ignored. Not only this, 150 to 200 people entered the mosque one after the other and the team started facing difficulty in carrying out its survey work.

Lucknow. Responding to the people from the Jama Masjid side who were creating controversy over the survey of Sambhal’s Jama Masjid being conducted twice (on November 19 and 24) instead of once, a police officer said that on November 19, As soon as the district administration had given information and consent to the survey from the Sadar and other committee members of the mosque, only a few marked people were supposed to go inside the mosque, but this did not happen and unauthorized people also entered inside. Due to excessive crowd, the work of the first day had to be postponed leaving it incomplete. Due to which the time for re-survey was fixed on 24th November. It is noteworthy that the survey regarding Jama Masjid vs Harihar Temple was conducted on the orders of Chandausi Civil Judge (Senior Division) Aditya Singh.

The police officer said that on November 19, Advocate Commissioner Ramesh Raghav was to conduct the survey with his team in the presence of the mosque’s Sadar Zafar Ali and members of the arrangement committee. For this, the district administration held talks with both the parties and a certain number of people were allowed to enter. Apart from the DM and SP, all the administrative people were kept out and the main gate was closed. The problem arose when suddenly some public representatives of the city and their supporters came and opened the gate of the mosque and entered inside.

The district administration and police team also opposed the entry of such people but their objection was ignored. Not only this, 150 to 200 people entered the mosque one after the other and the team started facing difficulty in carrying out its survey work. People started raising questions and objecting to the survey. In view of the huge crowd, the work was continuously getting affected and it was also night time. Due to which the Advocate Commissioner and the District Administration postponed the work and decided to do it the next day, but this survey could not be done for four days due to Friday prayers and counting of votes for the by-election, which was later done on 24 November.
