Schools, Anganwadis closed amid forecast of heavy rain in Bengaluru

According to the advisory issued by the IT-BT and Electronics Department, “In view of the yellow alert and possible bad weather, we give priority to the safety and welfare of the employees of IT, BT and private companies.”

Schools and Anganwadi centers remained closed on Wednesday in view of the forecast of heavy rain in Bengaluru. According to the India Meteorological Department, Bengaluru has received 23.6 mm of rain in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Wednesday.

The city is expected to have generally cloudy sky with moderate rain/thundershowers today. Heavy rain may also occur during the day. The Karnataka government on Wednesday suggested information technology (IT), biotechnology (BT), electronics and private companies to allow their employees to work from home.
