Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said the first list of Bharatiya Janata Party candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections will be released very soon as the dispute over more than half of the contentious seats has been resolved.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi late on Friday night to resolve differences between BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP over seat sharing for the elections.
Fadnavis told reporters at Nagpur airport, discussions on seat sharing are in the final stages. The discussion held yesterday was very positive. More than half of the disputed seats have been decided and only a few constituencies are left, which will be decided within two days.
BJP’s first list may come any time very soon. He indicated that the grand alliance partners may choose to announce separate candidates. Fadnavis said, we have decided that the partners of Mahayuti will release the list of seats as per their convenience.
