The Supreme Court ordered that the instructions of the child rights body issued on June 7 and June 25 this year should not be implemented and the action orders of the states will also be stayed. Jaising requested the Supreme Court that the petitioner should be given the liberty to make all the states and union territories parties to the petition.

Lucknow. The Supreme Court has given a big order regarding Madrasa students of Uttar Pradesh. The apex court on Monday, October 21, stayed the implementation of the directions issued by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), which had urged several states, including UP, to shift students of unrecognized madrassas to government schools.

Today the matter came up before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra. Senior advocate Indira Jaising represented the Muslim organization Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in the Supreme Court. It was argued before the bench that there was a need to put a stay on the directions of the child rights body and the actions of some states. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has challenged the action of Uttar Pradesh and Tripura governments, which have directed to shift students of unrecognized madrassas to government schools.

The Supreme Court ordered that the instructions of the child rights body issued on June 7 and June 25 this year should not be implemented and the action orders of the states will also be stayed. Jaising requested the Supreme Court that the petitioner should be given the liberty to make all the states and union territories parties to the petition. The Supreme Court allowed the Muslim organization to make states other than Uttar Pradesh and Tripura parties to its petition. The petition was filed through advocate Fuzail Ahmed Ayyubi.
