Talks are still going on on 11 out of 288 assembly seats between the Grand Alliance: Ajit Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar said that talks are currently going on between the ruling alliance Mahayuti on 11 out of 288 assembly seats in the state. Voting for 288 seats of the state assembly will be held in a single phase on November 20 while the results will be released on November 23.

Indapur. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar said that talks are currently underway on 11 of the 288 assembly seats in the state between the ruling alliance Mahayuti. Voting for 288 seats of the state assembly will be held in a single phase on November 20 while the results will be released on November 23. Pawar said that 10 percent of the seats won by his party will be kept for minority candidates. He said, “I have announced the names of some candidates. Currently discussion is going on on 11 seats. We can’t please everyone.”

Ajit Pawar is contesting from his nephew and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Yugendra Pawar on Baramati seat in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, NCP and BJP are the constituents of the ruling Mahayuti alliance. Ajit Pawar was present in Delhi on Thursday to hold discussions with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership. The BJP has so far released the first list of 99 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, while the NCP has released two lists, announcing its candidates in 45 constituencies. At the same time, Shiv Sena has announced the names of 45 candidates so far.
