The attitude of Farooq and Omar Abdullah has changed since the formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
After winning the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, the tone of National Conference leaders Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah has changed. During the election campaign, Abdullah strongly raised the issue of restoration of Article 370, but after forming the government, this issue was not even discussed in the first cabinet meeting. Farooq Abdullah, who had been advocating talks with Pakistan during the elections, is now saying that no talks can take place between India and Pakistan until the neighboring country stops the killings in Jammu and Kashmir.
As far as Omar Abdullah is concerned, let us tell you that during the elections he had been saying that Delhi was busy in conspiracies but now he is saying that he wants to work with Delhi and will work taking Delhi into confidence. Not only this, the first resolution passed by his cabinet did not say anything about Article 370 but only demanded restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
On the other hand, National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah has targeted Pakistan for carrying out terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that if Islamabad wants to have friendly relations with India then it will have to stop terrorist incidents here. Former Chief Minister Abdullah said that there cannot be any talks between India and Pakistan until the neighboring country stops the killings in Jammu and Kashmir. Commenting on the terrorist attack on a construction site in Ganderbal district on Sunday, Abdullah said, “I don’t know what action India should take, it is the jurisdiction of the central government.” This is a problem for us and we have been facing it for years. I’ve been watching this for 30 years. I have told him many times to stop this but his thinking is like this.” He said, ”How can talks happen? You kill our innocent people and then ask for talks. First stop killing.”

Describing this attack as a painful incident, the former Chief Minister said that poor people who came here to earn livelihood were killed in it. Abdullah said, “This is a very painful incident. Poor laborers come here for livelihood so that they can feed their families. These brutes murdered him. One of our doctors was also among those killed. He also lost his life.” Abdullah said that if the terrorists think that through such acts they will establish Pakistani rule in Jammu and Kashmir, then it is their misconception.
The NC President said, “What will these brutes get? Do they think that they will establish Pakistan here? We have been seeing for many years that they (terrorists) are coming from there. We are trying to solve this problem so that we can come out of our difficulties. I want to tell the rulers of Pakistan that if they really want friendship with India then they should stop this. Kashmir will not become (part of) Pakistan.” He said that Pakistan should allow the people of Kashmir to live in peace and dignity and should focus on the development of its country.
