The country is currently in no position to face a civil war – Swami Jitendrananda

The National General Secretary of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti’, an organization of saints, on Tuesday, in defense of the statement given by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on temple-mosque, said that the country is moving on the path of development and it is currently in the midst of a civil war. Not in a position to bear it. Sangh chief Bhagwat had recently said in a program that no person will become the leader of Hindus by raising the temple-mosque issue.

Swami Jitendranand Saraswati said while talking to ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “In the year 1984, the then top saints of the country and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had sat together and taken a resolution to build temples in Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi. This resolution was considered complete only when the decision on Ayodhya was taken unanimously. But the Ayodhya issue was resolved through the Supreme Court and Muslims did not show any generosity.

He said, “Sir Sanghchalak is the head of the world’s largest Hindu organization. Many small and big organizations work in Sanatan Hindu religion. Bhagwat ji’s statement should be taken seriously. Are we in a position to face another civil war on the question of religion and nation? Can’t these issues be resolved within the ambit of the Constitution?” Swami Jitendranand Saraswati said, ”When the Supreme Court has started hearing on the issue of the Places of Worship Act, the JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) is considering the issue of the Waqf Act. If so, then we should wait.”

Referring to the violence in Sambhal, he said, “We have to understand the circumstances and this is what Sir Sanghchalak has said.” Respected Saint Ramanandacharya Rambhadracharya also has the right to dissent in democracy. Just as Sir Sanghchalak expressed his views, similarly Rambhadracharya ji expressed his views.

National General Secretary of All India Sant Samiti said, “Maha Kumbh is going to be organized, everyone will meet… will sit and discuss and create an environment of clear consensus and move forward.” No one in the country will agree that we should throw the country into the fire of riots. Right now the country is moving rapidly on the path of development. This is the clear opinion of the Sant Committee.” He said, ”The views of the Sangh chief should be brainstormed. This cannot be ruled out. Religious topics are sensitive topics and everyone should think before speaking on it.
