Rudraprayag: The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be closed today. In such a situation, the puja is being conducted with full rituals from 4 am today. The time to close the doors is 8.30 in the morning. Now Kedarnath will give darshan in Ukhimath for 6 months.
When do the doors close?
The doors are closed on the day of Bhaiya Dooj. The Panchmukhi idol will be kept in a mobile idol doli. The moving Vigraha Doli will reach Omkareshwar in Ukhimath. The trolley will reach Rampur today via Gaurikund, Sonprayag. Kedarnath will be present in Omkareshwar on 5th November.
This year 16 lakh pilgrims had reached Kedarnath Dham to visit. In the last 6 days, 1 lakh pilgrims had reached Kedarnath. The doors of Yamunotri Dham will also be closed today itself.
The temple premises were decorated with 10 quintals of flowers.
The main doors of the temple along with the Sabha Mandap will be closed at 8.30. Thousands of devotees have arrived on this occasion to have darshan of Kedarnath. The entire temple complex has been decorated with 10 quintals of flowers. Today the Panchmukhi idol of Kedarnath will be sent to Ukhimath through a mobile idol doli.
Passing from Gaurikund via Sonprayag, the doli will rest at Rampur tonight. After this, Kedarnath will be seen at Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath from 5th November. Kedarnath resides here during the entire winter. This year more than 16 lakh devotees have visited Kedarnath. In the last 6 days alone, around 1 lakh devotees have arrived for darshan. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the devotees on the occasion of closing of doors today.
Earlier yesterday the doors of Gangotri Dham had been closed. Mother Ganga is worshiped in Gangotri, one of the four Dhams of Uttarakhand, located in Uttarkashi district. Further ahead from here is Gomukh, from where Ganga originates. Firstly the doors of Gangotri have been closed. Now today, along with Kedarnath, the doors of Yamunotri will be closed. After that finally the doors of Badrinath Dham will be closed.
