The court on Thursday sent a Chhattisgarh lawyer arrested for threatening to kill Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan to police custody till November 18. Mumbai Police arrested accused lawyer Faizan Khan from Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. They brought him here after obtaining his transit remand from a court in Chhattisgarh. Police on Thursday produced the accused in a Bandra court here and sought his seven-day remand to investigate the case.

He argued that the threat call made from his communication device was a conspiracy against him as he had earlier filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against Shah Rukh Khan over a dialogue in his film ‘Anjaam’ in reference to deer hunting. After hearing both the sides, the court sent the accused to police custody till November 18. Bandra Police Station received a call on November 5, in which a person from the other party threatened to kill Shahrukh Khan and demanded Rs 50 lakh. The actor’s house is located in Bandra.
Subsequently, a case was registered against the then unknown caller under sections 308 and 351 of the Indian Justice Code. The caller was later identified as Faizan Khan and was revealed to be from Raipur. Before his arrest, Faizan Khan had told journalists that his phone was stolen on November 2 and he had filed a complaint in this regard.
