Andhra Pradesh CM gave instructions regarding security arrangements

At the same time, he has also given instructions to pay attention to the safety of embankments of ponds and canals and to install necessary warning boards near rivers and canals. To avoid any loss, officials have been asked to set up a control room for immediate action. CM has also clearly said that if necessary, schools and colleges will also be kept closed.
Work from home advice to IT companies in Tamil Nadu
The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert regarding heavy rains in Tamil Nadu till October 16. School holidays have been declared in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu due to rain. Along with this, the Chief Minister asked the officials to advise the employees of IT companies in Chennai, Thiruvanlur, Kancheepuram and Changalpattu districts to work from home. IMD warns that people should stay at home and not go to flood affected areas. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu in the next three days. Keeping this in mind, the administration has activated emergency services in all the districts and has asked NDRF, SDRF and police personnel to be ready for relief operations.
Orange alert issued in Tamil Nadu

Government made preparations for heavy rains
On Monday, the Chief Minister called a meeting to review the monsoon preparations. In the meeting, Chennai Corporation Commissioner said that 990 pumps and 57 tractors equipped with pump sets are on standby. Besides this, 36 motorboats, 46 MT bleach powder, 25 MT lime powder and phenol have been prepared for immediate use. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Monday surveyed the banks of Narayanapuram lake and Ambedkar Road canals in view of the forecast of heavy rains. He said, “Since there are heavy rains in various parts of Chennai, as per the instructions of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, we have conducted a survey on the banks of Narayanapuram lake between Pallikaranai and Kovilambakkam.”
Yellow alert issued in Puducherry
The Meteorological Department has also predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Telangana for the next two to four days. In view of the rain, a yellow alert has been issued here. In Puducherry, Education Minister A Nammasivayam has directed to close all schools and colleges in Puducherry and Karaikal on October 15 due to the warning of heavy rain.
