Mumbai Police has arrested a 21-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh. This young man has been detained for sending a message to Zeeshan Siddiqui, the MLA son of late NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddiqui.
Uttar Pradesh Police has handed over the accused to Nirmal Nagar Police of Mumbai. The police is busy interrogating him. The police is trying to find out what was the intention and motive of the accused behind sending this message. Quoting unnamed police sources, NDTV has reported that the message was sent to Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office in Bandra on Friday evening. In this message ransom was demanded from Salman Khan and the MLA. It was also said that if the ransom was not paid, he would be killed. After this threat, an employee of Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office lodged a complaint with the police and an FIR was registered.
After this, Mumbai Police identified Mohammad Tayyab as the person behind the threats and arrested him. Earlier, Mumbai Police had arrested Sheikh Hussain Sheikh Mousin, a 24-year-old vegetable vendor from Jamshedpur, in connection with a threatening message received on the WhatsApp helpline of Mumbai Traffic Police.
Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline received a threatening message from the actor demanding Rs 5 crore, following which the police registered a case and started investigation. Police traced the number to Jharkhand and teams were sent to nab the accused, an official said. He told that another team went to Guwahati. Police have widened their net to trace the sender of the message, but the Mumbai Traffic Police has received an “apology” from the same mobile phone number, officials said on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that Salman Khan had earlier received death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Suspected members of this gang had opened fire outside the actor’s Bandra house in April this year. A few months ago, Navi Mumbai Police had uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to kill Khan, following which the actor’s security was increased.
