Three boys drowned in a canal of Subarnarekha river in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday, resulting in their death. Police gave this information. Police said that the incident took place in Saraskana area when the boys aged 13-14 years were playing cricket with their friends near the canal.
A police officer said the ball fell into the canal after which a boy went to collect it but went into deep water. He said that two others tried to save him but all three were swept away in the strong current of water.
