Naxalites attacked two policemen in a weekly market in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday morning, injuring them. An officer gave this information.
The officer said that the incident took place when the policemen were deployed on security duty in the market of Jagargunda village. The police officer said that an ‘action team’ of Naxalites (which usually consists of four-five cadres) suddenly attacked the two policemen with sharp weapons and fled.
He said that other security personnel deployed there immediately swung into action and started searching for the attackers. The official said that both have been admitted to the local hospital for treatment and then they will be taken to Sukma for better treatment.
