Pralhad Joshi said today that 500 years ago Chalukyas had built a temple in Bijapur. That too has been acquired by Waqf. Your property can be taken over by the Waqf any day, this is the position of the law today.

Ruckus continues in Karnataka regarding Waqf Board. Amidst all this, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has made a claim which may further increase the political chaos. Pralhad Joshi alleged that a new kind of jihad was taking place across Karnataka, with the Waqf Board claiming ownership of lands belonging to farmers, temples and others. Along with this, he targeted the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah. He said that the ruling party has reached the height of appeasement politics and alleged that it has in a way made appeasement of minorities its goal.

Pralhad Joshi said today that 500 years ago Chalukyas had built a temple in Bijapur. That too has been acquired by Waqf. Your property can be taken over by Waqf any day, this is the position of the law today. He clearly said that I strongly condemn this attitude of the Congress government. He said that an FIR has been registered against our MP and BJYM President Tejashwi Surya for allegedly spreading fake news. I want to tell Congress that they cannot threaten BJP and its leaders like this.

The BJP leader said that a new kind of ‘jihad’ is taking place in the entire state through Waqf. Looking at the conduct of Congress Party and Siddaramaiah, they appear hypocritical. He said, Congress leaders are claiming that BJP had promised in its manifesto that it will protect Waqf properties. Yes. We said it. It is on record. What we have said is that the existing Waqf properties which have been captured and looted by senior Congress leaders will be saved. Joshi alleged that Congress leaders have taken illegal bribes worth thousands of crores of rupees in the form of lease and rent from these lands.
