Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar announced that the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election will be held on November 13. Wayanad is the only parliamentary constituency where by-elections will be held along with 47 other assembly constituencies. The last date for filing nomination is October 25 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 30. The counting of votes will take place on November 23 and the results will also be declared on the same day.
At the time of announcement of Lok Sabha elections 2019, when Rahul had reluctantly said, ‘Together we will defeat BJP’, neither Rahul nor Congress nor the country expected that Congress would defeat Modi in the Lok Sabha elections. . But it seemed to everyone that she would perform better than before. Then it seemed that Rahul Gandhi would focus only on the politics of South India. Will Priyanka contest from Wayanad?

Eye on 2026 assembly elections also
According to Congress, the fight in Wayanad is one-sided. The results of two consecutive Lok Sabha elections are also proof. Congress is thinking of doing a similar experiment in UP with the help of Priyanka Gandhi in the next elections in Kerala. Assembly elections are to be held in Kerala in 2026. That means a total of two years are left. This is enough time to prepare for the assembly elections. Preparations will start from Priyanka Gandhi’s Wayanad campaign itself. There may also be an anti-incumbency wave against the 10-year rule of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, which the Congress would like to take advantage of.
