The doctor, identified as Dr Deepra Bhattacharya, was a senior resident at Jhargram Medical College and Hospital. He was living on the fifth floor of the hotel. Suspicion arose when the hotel staff could not contact him throughout the morning, following which they called the police.
A doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Jhargram, West Bengal. When there was no response from the doctor’s room despite repeated calls, the hotel staff informed the police. When the police arrived, they entered the room and found the body. The doctor, identified as Dr Deepra Bhattacharya, was a senior resident at Jhargram Medical College and Hospital. He was living on the fifth floor of the hotel. Suspicion arose when hotel staff were unable to contact him throughout the morning, following which they called the police.
On entering the room, the police found Dr. Bhattacharya lying on the bed. Police sources said a syringe and a suicide note were found nearby. His body was taken to the hospital for post-mortem and the police have registered a case of unnatural death. Dr Anugrah Pakhira, superintendent of Jhargram Medical College and Hospital, said, “I came to know from his friends that he was suffering from mental depression. The real cause of death will be known only after postmortem. The police is investigating the matter
