Sharad Pawar has said that he will continue doing social work even after retiring from politics. Just a month before the split in NCP, Sharad Pawar had resigned from the post of party president. But due to the insistence of many NCP leaders and workers, he withdrew it.

The battle for Maharashtra Assembly elections has reached its peak. After the last date for withdrawal of applications has passed, the picture of competitions across the state has started becoming clear. The rebels have posed a big challenge at many places. While on one hand this matter is being discussed, on the other hand Sharad Pawar’s political retirement is also being discussed. He himself has indicated this in his speech at Yugendra Pawar’s campaign rally in Baramati. However, Sharad Pawar has said that he will continue doing social work even after retiring from politics. Just a month before the split in NCP, Sharad Pawar had resigned from the post of party president. But due to the insistence of many NCP leaders and workers, he withdrew it.

Soon after, there was a split in the party and Ajit Pawar’s faction joined the ruling Grand Alliance. Even then the discussion about Sharad Pawar’s resignation was in full swing. Now as soon as Sharad Pawar has given a direct indication of his political retirement, discussion about it has started in political circles. Sharad Pawar held a meeting in Baramati today to campaign for Yugendra Pawar. On this occasion, he indicated his retirement by mentioning that he has been active in the political circle of Maharashtra for the last 55 years. Some of you were alive at that time, some were not born. 55 years ago I started working in all parts of Maharashtra. In 1967, the voters of that time elected me. I still see some of those voters here. He is now 50-55 years old.

Sharad Pawar said that with everyone’s support, I went to the Assembly, became a Minister of State, became a Minister, became a Chief Minister, worked in the Defense Ministry, worked in the Agriculture Ministry and today I am in the Rajya Sabha. Got elected to the Lok Sabha once with your vote and then decided that the Lok Sabha will no longer exist. Because after being elected continuously for 30-35 years, a new generation must be created. So 30 years ago I decided that I would no longer stand for the Lok Sabha. I will not watch politics here. Presently I am in Rajya Sabha. There is still one and a half year tenure left. After that I will have to think again whether to go to Rajya Sabha or not. I will not contest Lok Sabha. Will not contest any election. How many elections are to be contested?
