Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said all young officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS) will have to work with a tough approach to end anti-national activities.
Interacting with probationer officers of the 2023 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS) here, Shah said the time has come for the police to try their best to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens of the country.
He said that the police system should be alert to reduce the crimes taking place within the country’s borders and provide justice to the citizens in the shortest possible time. “Now is the time to protect the rights of citizens and make efforts to stop atrocities against them,” he said.
The Home Minister said that protecting the rights of the poor, children and women is of paramount importance. He said that the security of the country does not just mean the security of the border.
He said, “The nation is made up of citizens. Security of citizens is the basis of the security of the nation. Shah said that when he talks about security, it is not limited to the security of life and property, but also the security of the rights given to the citizens by the Constitution. .
