Kohli gives ‘Virat’ signal, youngsters will get opportunity instead of aged players

Indian team captain Virat Kohli said that the fast bowling attack is no longer young and the think-tank of the team is feeling that there is a need to try the next generation in the near future. Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be the spearhead of the fast bowling attack for many years to come, but Ishant Sharma will turn 32 this year, Mohammed Shami (29) has also reached his peak. Also remember that Umesh Yadav will turn 33 this year.

Talking about the future plans, Captain Kohli said, ‘These boys are no longer young and we need to take care and be alert. We have to take care of this by acknowledging that such a situation can come when we have to search for alternatives. The youth should be ready for international level soon. ‘ Ishant is not playing in the second test due to poor rehab and Shami has been playing more and more responsibility for the last two years. Looking at this, it seems that the team is ready for a change in the fast bowling department in the next two years.

Will soon find new fast bowlers

Kohli also indicated that the management has not yet noticed new talent. He said, ‘On a larger scale, we need to identify the next three to four boys who keep the level high because if you don’t have some players, you don’t suddenly feel empty.’ The Indian team has a busy schedule in all three formats of cricket. Kohli said that it is inhuman to pull a person completely.

Kohli said, ‘It happens in cricket. Small changes occur everywhere now and later. You need to be aware of this. You cannot draw the full power of someone’s life. When their career ends, you have no choice. I think our team knows this and is working accordingly. The Indian captain said that Navdeep Saini is already part of the fast bowling attack and that two to three names are also being taken care of.

Repeat new bowler success

Virat Kohli said, ‘Saini is a bowler who is in our system. We have two to three bowlers who are keeping an eye on them. We need to stay alert and understand that this has given us a lot of success. We have to ensure that the level is always kept high. ‘

The way Yadav, Ishant and Shami achieved success in all these years, Kohli wants the youth to repeat their success. He said, “We recognized people including Umesh and understood that he could carry out such a responsibility.” While Kohli did not name any fast bowler, but among the potential fast bowlers, Mohammad Siraj (Hyderabad), Sandeep Warrier (Kerala), Avesh Khan (Madhya Pradesh) and Ishan Porel (Bengal) are at the forefront.
