23 year old Pakistani player becomes captain, gets big responsibility for Emerging T20 Asia Cup

Mohammed Haris: 23-year-old young wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Haris has been appointed the captain of Pakistan Shaheen Team (Pakistan-A Team) for the ACC Emerging T20 Asia Cup. Those players who have performed well in the recently held Champions Cup and domestic cricket have got a chance in the defending champion Pakistan team. There are many players in the team who have performed well in international cricket for Pakistan.

The tournament will start from October 18

The ACC Emerging T20 Asia Cup will begin from October 18 in Oman. Pakistan Shaheen’s team will practice in a camp organized at Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Center in Karachi from 11 to 15 October before leaving for Oman on 16 October. Aggressive batsman Abdul Samad, who performed well in the Champions Cup ODI tournament, has also got a place in the team. Along with Haider Ali, there are four players in the team who have experience of international cricket.

Pakistanis are in India’s group

Eight teams will participate in this event. Four teams each have been divided into two groups. Group A comprises Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka A, while defending champions Pakistan Shaheen (A team), India A, Oman and UAE have been placed in Group B. All the matches of this tournament will be held at Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat. Pakistan team will start its campaign against India on 19 October. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on October 25. The final will be played on 27 October.

Mohammad Haris has so far scored 30 runs in 6 ODI matches and 126 runs in 9 T20 International matches for the Pakistani team. Apart from this, he has scored 1130 runs in 49 List-A matches. He is known for his excellent batting.

Mohammad Haris (captain), Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Hasibullah, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Imran Jr., Omar bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sufiyan Mokim, Yasir Khan and Zaman Khan.
