On the other hand, Indian women’s cricket team has defeated New Zealand and captured the 3-match ODI series 2-1. In the third ODI match played in Ahmedabad, Team India won the match as well as the series thanks to Smriti Mandhana’s historic century. In this match, Smriti Mandhana also created a new record by scoring a century.

Batting first in the third ODI, the New Zealand team could not even play the full 50 overs. The Kiwi team was bundled out for 232 runs in 49.5 overs. For India, Deepti Sharma took maximum 3 wickets while Priya Mishra took 2 wickets. While chasing New Zealand’s score, the Indian team did not have a very good start. Opener Shefali Verma returned to the pavilion on the score of 16 runs. He scored his 8th century in ODIs. In this way she became the Indian woman cricketer to score the most centuries in ODIs. He shattered Mithali Raj’s record of 7 ODI centuries.

Smriti Mandhana played an inning of 100 runs in 122 balls with the help of 10 fours. After Mandhana’s dismissal, captain Harmanpreet Kaur along with Jemimah achieved the target of 233 runs in 44.2 overs. In this way the Indian team managed to capture the ODI series 2-1. India won the first ODI by 59 runs while New Zealand won the second match.
