Gujarat Titans team has appointed Parthiv Patel as assistant and batting coach. The franchise gave this information on Wednesday. Parthiv will play a dual role in the support staff led by head coach Ashish Nehra. Gujarat Titans are pleased to announce the appointment of Parthiv Patel as their new assistant and batting coach, a statement issued by the franchise said. This former Indian wicketkeeper batsman will add the experience of his illustrious career of 17 years to the team. As Gujarat Titans prepare for the upcoming season of IPL, Parthiv’s batting technique and ability to formulate strategies will play an important role in enhancing the skills of the players.
Titles won for Mumbai Indians
Parthiv Patel retired from cricket in 2020. This will be the first time when he will play the role of coach in IPL. He was working as a talent scout for Mumbai Indians for the last three seasons. He was also the batting coach of MI Emirates in the first season of ILT20. He has experience, which can be useful to the Gujarat Titans team.
Played more than 100 matches in IPL
Parthiv Patel has played for Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. He also won the IPL trophy for Mumbai team in the year 2017. He has scored 2848 runs in 139 IPL matches, which includes 13 half-centuries. Apart from this, in his 17-year career, Parthiv played 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and some T20 matches for India.
