Pakistan cricket team is currently on tour of Zimbabwe. After winning the 3-match ODI series 2-1, Pakistan is ready to play the T20I series. In this series, the captaincy of Pakistan team will be in the hands of Salman Aga. Apart from former captain Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah were not given a chance on this tour. Now big news has come out regarding the return of all these players. Actually, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah are expected to return to the ODI team for the South Africa tour. Pakistan selectors are expected to soon announce the squads for the South Africa tour where the national team is scheduled to play three ODIs, three T20Is and two Tests.

A source said Fakhar was ruled out of the limited overs series in Australia and Zimbabwe after failing a fitness test and having a knee problem. He has worked on his fitness and his name can be considered for the limited overs series in South Africa. The source also said that the selectors have suggested to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that only the players selected for the Test series should be sent to South Africa for a training camp for better preparation.

He said that along with former captain Babar, Shaheen and Naseem will also be included in the ODI and Test teams. He was rested for the Zimbabwe tour. The source said that Fakhar can also be called for T20 matches but Babar, Shaheen and Naseem can be played only in three ODIs and two Tests.

Pakistan will play a total of 8 matches

Pakistan’s South Africa tour will start from December 10. First, a 3-match T20I series will be played. After this, the 3-match ODI series will start from December 17. Finally, both the teams will play a 2-match test series. The first Test will be played in Centurion from 26th December while the second Test will start in Cape Town from 3rd January.
