India and Australia
IND vs AUS: The first Test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is going to start from today i.e. 22nd November in Perth. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah has won the toss and decided to bat first against Australia. Two players are ready to debut from India today. Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy have been included in the playing-11. With this, both the players have got a chance to play their first test match for Team India. There is also going to be a debut from Australia. Opener Nathan McSweeney is ready to play his first Test match.
Considering the Optus pitch of Perth, Team India did not give a chance to R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the playing-11. In such a situation, the long wait for the debut of 22 year old Harshit Rana finally ended in Australia. Rana has been associated with Team India for the last several months but he was continuously being ignored.
Harshit Rana did not get a chance to debut even in the 3-match home Test series against New Zealand. But now he has got his debut cap in Australia. Harshit Rana had performed brilliantly in IPL 2024 and played an important role in helping his team KKR win the title. Now his effort will be to bowl brilliantly for India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
