Rishabh Pant dropped the catch of McSweeney in the 7th over of the innings. Jasprit Bumrah was bowling that over. It was Bumrah who took the wicket of Usman Khawaja in this match. He dismissed Usman Khawaja in the 11th over of the match. If Pant had not dropped the catch, Bumrah would have had at least two wickets in his name. It is very important for the bowlers to get the support of the wicketkeeper to be successful, but Bumrah is not getting the support of Rishabh Pant as per his requirement.
Pant is unable to handle Bumrah’s bowling
Rishabh Pant is not looking very active behind the wicket during the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. Rishabh Pant had 42 chances to take catches on Bumrah’s bowling, but he dropped 8 catches out of 42 times. Pant’s statistics along with other bowlers are quite amazing. Other bowlers gave him a chance to catch 132 catches, but out of these 132 catches, Rishabh Pant dropped the catch only 10 times. Overall, it would not be wrong to say that Rishabh Pant is not able to play properly behind the wicket on the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah.
