Jay Shah, who took over as ICC Chairman earlier this month, has reached Australia where the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is being played between India and the host team. In Australia, Jay Shah met top officials of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics Organizing Committee on December 12 and discussed the possibility of including cricket in the Summer Games. Cricket will return to the Olympics after 128 years when it will be part of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The inclusion of cricket in Brisbane in 2032 has not been confirmed yet.

One of Jay Shah’s immediate priorities is to find a solution to hosting the Champions Trophy in February-March. All stakeholders have agreed to the hybrid model but no announcement has been made yet.
