Devdutt Padikkal’s sudden entry in Team India
India vs Australia: The first match of the five-Test series between India and Australia is starting from Friday i.e. 22nd November. BCCI had already announced the team. Except Rohit Sharma, the rest of the team is currently in Perth, Australia, where the first match will be played. Now there is not much time left in the first test, but before that suddenly a new player has entered the team. Although no one has been dropped from the squad, Devdutt Padikkal has been included in the team. It is expected that he will get a chance to play in the playing eleven also.
BCCI announced Devdutt’s name
BCCI has announced some time ago that Devdutt Padikkal has been included in the Indian team squad for the first test, he is a left-handed batsman. Although Devdutt Padikkal made his Test debut this year, but after that he did not get a place in the Indian team. After this, now he is making a comeback in a way. There was already a possibility that due to Shubman Gill’s injury, Devdutt Padikkal might get a place in the first test. Now this has also been officially announced.
The first test match was played in March this year
Devdutt Padikkal played his first Test against England in Dharamsala in March 2024. Then playing at number four, Devdutt played a valuable inning of 65 runs. Then he came to the team in place of Virat Kohli and was seen playing at number four. But this time he has come into the team in place of Shubman Gill and may be seen batting at number three.
Devdutt was playing for India’s A team
Recently, when India A team played a match against Australia A, they batted well. He had scored 88 runs in the second innings of the first match. However, after this he could not play much big innings. He has been in Australia for a long time, so he is well acquainted with the challenges there, hence he has been given a chance in the team. Now it remains to be seen how they take advantage of the second chance they get.
