Duleep Trophy 2024: Under the captaincy of Mayank Agarwal, India-A team defeated India-C by 132 runs and won the Duleep Trophy 2024 title. Shashwat Rawat performed brilliantly for India-A. It was because of his century that the team was able to register a win. India-A team maintained its dominance throughout the match. After India-A won, they got 12 points, which made them top after three matches and became the winner.

India-C batsmen performed poorly

India C needed 350 runs to win on the last day. But India C were bowled out for 217 in 81.5 overs with Prasidh Krishna taking three wickets for 50 runs in his 13.5 overs, including the last wicket of the match. The match was in a nail-biting position at tea time when India C were 169 for three. Sai Sudarshan and Ishan Kishan were at the crease and they needed 182 runs in the final session of about 30 overs. But Kotian had Kishan (17) caught behind and also took the wicket of Abhishek Porel (0) in successive overs. He then dismissed Pulkit Narang (6) as well. Earlier, Aqib Khan dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad for 44 while Vijaykumar Vaishakh was run out for 17.

Sai Sudarshan scored a century

Sai Sudarshan tried to stay at one end and scored a century. But he could not make the team win even after playing a century innings. Sudarshan played a brilliant innings of 111 runs with the help of 12 fours in 206 balls. He did not get support from the other end. Rajat Patidar (07), Baba Indrajit zero runs, Manav Suthar could score only 7 runs. Tanush Kotian and Prasidh Krishna took 3-3 wickets. Aqib Khan took two wickets. Shams Mulani took one wicket.

Batting first, India-A team scored 297 runs. After this, India-C scored 234 runs in the first innings. In this way, India A got a lead of 63 runs on the basis of the first innings. Then in the second innings, Riyan Parag (73) and Shashwat Rawat (53) scored half centuries for India A and wicketkeeper batsman Kumar Kushagra contributed 42 runs. India A declared its second innings at 286 runs.
