Poor Pakistan! Wanting to invite India somehow
Champions Trophy 2025 Update: Pakistan is not desisting from its nefarious activities, but still it is hopeful that Team India will come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. However, no final decision has been taken on this yet. Champions Trophy is to be held in 50 over format early next year. Meanwhile, a big statement from the Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board i.e. PCB has come out. They have full hope that what they are thinking and wanting will happen.
PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Mohsin Naqvi is confident that the ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan and all teams including the Indian cricket team will participate in the tournament. According to the preparations made by the PCB so far, the Champions Trophy 2025 is likely to start on February 19. If we talk about the final, it can be played on March 9. PCB has also decided the venues for this. Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi have been selected for the matches. Naqvi has said that the Indian team should come. They do not think they will cancel or postpone their visit and we are confident that we will host all the teams in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. He also said that Pakistan is ready to host all the teams including India and preparations are going on as per schedule. Naqvi said that the stadiums will also be ready to host matches on time.
The last time the Indian cricket team toured Pakistan was in 2008.
ICC has handed over the hosting of this time’s Champions Trophy to Pakistan. It is said that Pakistan has prepared its schedule and sent it to ICC, but ICC has not announced it yet. The reason for this is that BCCI has not yet agreed to this entire matter. Top BCCI officials have said many times before that the Indian cricket team takes permission from the Government of India before every foreign tour, but till now the green signal has not been received from the government. Team India last toured Pakistan in the year 2008. In November of the same year, there was a terrorist attack on Mumbai, in which Pakistan’s hand was found, since then till now Team India has not toured Pakistan.
India vs Pakistan match in ICC and ACC tournament
The mutual series between India and Pakistan is closed, but these two teams face each other in ICC and ACC tournaments. On most occasions these matches take place in another country. However, in the year 2023, when the ODI World Cup was held in India, the Pakistani team came to India. Earlier, Pakistan had also got the opportunity to host Asia Cup 2023, but Team India had refused to go to Pakistan. After this it was done on hybrid model, all the matches of India were played in Sri Lanka. Hopefully something similar can happen in the Champions Trophy also. However, the final decision should be awaited.
