What is RTM rule after all?
The Right to Match rule was first implemented during the Mega Player Auction held in 2018. In this, if a team is not able to retain any of its players before the auction, then at the time of the auction, it will get a chance to get him back in its team, but for this, during that time, some other franchise has paid as much for that player. He can include it in the amount he has bid. This price may be more or less than the previous price of that player.
For example, suppose Mumbai Indians are unable to retain Ishan Kishan before the Mega Player Auction and Punjab Kings team buys him at the time of the auction, then in such a situation Mumbai will have the opportunity to use the RTM card to get Ishan. Can make him a part of your team again. However, during this period, Mumbai will have to spend the same amount from its own purse for the bid that Punjab Kings has made for Ishaan.
RTM option will not be available if 6 players are retained
According to the new retention rule issued by the IPL Governing Council, if a franchise decides to include 6 players, including 5 capped and one uncapped, then it will not have the opportunity to use even a single RTM during the Mega Player Auction. will get.
