The Indian cricket team is currently in Australia. Team India is touring Australia to play the host Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Team India started this tour in a grand style. In the absence of captain Rohit Sharma, the Indian team defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test match and thus set a record for Australia’s biggest win at home in terms of runs. Now a day-night test match is to be played between India and Australia in Adelaide from 6th December. Before this match, Team India players met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese hosted the Indian cricket team at a reception on 28 November ahead of their two-day pink ball (day-night Test) practice match against the Prime Minister’s XI from 30 November. During the meeting with the Prime Minister, Indian captain Rohit Sharma introduced all his teammates to him. During this, Albanese praised Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli, who were the heroes of the team’s victory in the Perth Test.
Rohit gave speech in parliament
During this, Indian captain Rohit Sharma also addressed the Parliament of Australia. In his speech he highlighted the rich history of bilateral relations between India and Australia, including their shared love for cricket. He also said that Indian players love the challenge of playing in Australia and enjoy getting to know the country and its culture. India have won two consecutive Test series in Australia and Rohit said the team wants to build on that success and entertain the Australian and Indian fans.
Let us tell you, cricket diplomacy is an important part of India-Australia relations. Albanese, along with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi during his official visit to India last year, met players from both the teams during the Test match in Ahmedabad.
