South Africa defeated Australia by 8 wickets and made it to the final of the tournament for the second consecutive time. For the first time in the history of T20 World Cup, South Africa has succeeded in defeating the Australian team. Not only this, this is only the third victory of South Africa against Australia in international cricket.

Six-time champions Australia were eliminated before the final for only the second time in nine editions of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Before this semi-final match, South Africa had never defeated Australia in the history of T20 World Cup. The African team had lost all its previous seven matches against Australia. South Africa performed brilliantly

The Australian team could only score 134 runs for five wickets in the semi-finals after a slow start against the tough bowling of South Africa. Wicketkeeper batsman Beth Mooney scored the highest 44 runs for Australia. Captain Tahlia McGrath contributed 27 runs. In the end, the Australian team was successful in reaching this score due to Alice Perry’s 31 runs in 23 balls and Phoebe Litchfield’s unbeaten 16 runs in nine balls. In response, South Africa made a great start. Captain Laura Wolvaardt started the innings and scored 42 runs. After this, Anne Bosch led her team to victory by playing an unbeaten inning of 74 runs on 48 balls. He hit 8 fours and one six in his innings.
