ENG vs PAK: The first match of the 3-match Test series is being played between hosts Pakistan and England in Multan. At one time, Pakistan team was looking very strong but as soon as England came to bat, the fate of the match changed. In response to Pakistan’s first innings score of 556 runs, England shattered many big records by scoring 823 runs on the scoreboard. This was the fourth time in the history of Test cricket that a team scored more than 800 in an innings. This is also the fourth highest score in Test cricket.
Former captain Joe Root and Harry Brook had important contributions in taking England to a huge score. Harry Brook scored a brilliant triple century while Joe Root made many big records by scoring a double century. Harry Brook scored the second fastest triple century in Test cricket history. He took just 310 balls to reach the 300 mark. Brook was out after scoring 317 runs. Whereas, Root played an innings of 262 runs. There was a record partnership of 454 runs for the fourth wicket between the two batsmen. In this way the record of the largest partnership in Test was broken. Root and Brook together shattered the world record of Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh’s partnership of 449 runs.
