This was only the third victory of the Kiwi team in 37 test matches on Indian soil. After falling 0-1 in the 3-match series, Team India was burning for revenge but as soon as the second Test match started in Pune, New Zealand once again tightened the screws and pushed Team India on the backfoot. In the end, New Zealand registered victory and achieved the great feat of winning the Test series on Indian soil for the first time in the history of Test cricket.
India got its biggest defeat at home
In the third and last match of the Test series, the Indian team was seen to be in a strong position but the Kiwi team also conquered the fort of Mumbai and made a new history in Test cricket by making a 3-0 clean sweep of Team India in the series. . With this defeat, a shameful record of biggest defeat was registered in the name of Team India. This was the first time that India faced a clean sweep in a series of three or more Test matches at home.
