Digital Payments Company Paytm launched All in One QR Code on Wednesday. Through this launching, the company has integrated RuPay cards into Paytm QR code. This will make it easier for merchants to accept payments through all modes from the QR code of their Paytm Business app. Apart from Paytm wallet, credit and debit card, the QR code of Paytm is already able to accept payments from any UPI app like PhonePe, Google Pay, Bhima etc.
On this occasion, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma said that now merchants will be able to accept payments from various payment modes. Apart from wallet or UPI, RuPay card has also been included in these modes. All this will be on zero percent MDR charge. Paytm All in One QR Code is the only QR Code available on the RuPay Card.
15 million offline merchants now
Sharma further said that Paytm is mainly known as Wallet. In 2019, we added UPI to it and now we are adding more features to it. Paytm currently has 15 million offline merchants. Out of these 10 million are active merchants.
55% QR payment from Paytm in 2019
Sharma said that in 2019 there were 26 billion payments including cards, mobile, internet banking etc. Of these, 15 billion payments were received by merchants. Of these, 9 billion payments were made through QR code, of which 5 billion i.e. 55 percent were through Paytm. According to the RoC filings sourced from Tofler, last month the company raised Rs 4,724 crore under Alipay of China under fresh funding.
