Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Friday that leaders of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stature do not usually hold election rallies at small venues, hence Modi will not come to Baramati.

Sitting MLA Pawar is contesting from Baramati against his nephew Yugendra Pawar. Yugendra is the candidate of Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (SP).

When asked by journalists why he did not invite Modi to hold a public meeting in his support, Ajit said that when leaders like Modi campaign, his rallies are held at district headquarters and not at tehsil sites. .

“People from the tehsil go to participate in the rally,” he said. The rally to be held in Pune will be for the entire district which includes Baramati. Asked why Modi had held the rally in Baramati in 2019, he said the objective then was to “defeat a candidate named Ajit Pawar”. Was.

Ajit Pawar was in the opposition camp in 2019 and was part of the NCP led by his uncle Sharad Pawar. Ajit said in a joking tone, “This time Modi does not have to defeat that person.” He wants to make her win and that is why he is not holding a rally.

Ajit Pawar on Thursday said he did not request Prime Minister Modi to hold an election rally in his Baramati constituency because the fight there is within the family.
