Banks will remain closed for many days in many states of the country during the festive month of October. According to the Reserve Bank of India, there will be bank holidays for about 4 days this week in many states. In such a situation, if you have to do any important work related to the bank, then it is wise to get it done in advance. Otherwise you will have to wait. Talking about the entire month, in some states banks will remain closed for about 15 days this month including different dates. However, despite the closure of branches, online and digital banking services will remain available, ensuring that customers can manage their finances without any disruption.

October 31, 2024 (Thursday): Diwali (Deepawali) – a major festival celebrated across the country, especially in states like Gujarat and West Bengal, also marks the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Apart from these, banks will remain statutorily closed on the second and fourth Saturdays (October 12 and 26) as well as every Sunday of the month.
State wise bank holidays
According to the news of Livemint, there will be holidays in different states in the month of October. Like Assam will celebrate Kati Bihu on 17th October, while Jammu and Kashmir will celebrate Merger Day on 26th October. Similarly, many states will celebrate Durga Puja and Dussehra on different dates in the second week of October.
