Country T.P. Gopalan Nambiar, founder of the leading electronics company BPL Group, passed away on Thursday. The family members of T.P. Gopalan Nambiar have shared this bad news. According to the family, 94 year old Gopalan Nambiar was ill for some time. A family member said that BPL Group founder Gopalan Nambiar breathed his last at around 10.15 am today. T. P. Gopalan Nambiar has a special connection with both the states of Kerala and Karnataka.

T.P. Gopalan Nambiar was the father-in-law of former Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar.

On the demise of T.P. Gopalan Nambiar, former Chief Minister of Karnataka B. S. Yediyurappa said in a social media post, “Saddened by the news of the demise of BPL Group founder T.P. Gopalan Nambiar. His contribution will always be remembered. My condolences to his loved ones. Let us tell you that former Union Minister and BJP leader Rajiv Chandrashekhar is the son-in-law of T.P. Gopalan Nambiar.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor expressed grief over the demise

Prominent senior Congress leader of Kerala Shashi Tharoor also expressed grief over the demise of Gopalan Nambiar and described him as a visionary industrialist. Shashi Tharoor said, “Shri T.P.G. Sad to hear the news of Nambiar’s demise. He was a visionary industrialist from Kerala who, after acquiring British Physical Laboratories in 1961, started a new chapter in electronics manufacturing by setting up a state-of-the-art facility in Palakkad, which was renamed BPL.
