Mahindra & MSDE’s Groundbreaking Partnership Elevates Women’s Skills to New Heights

In a landmark move, Mahindra & Mahindra has joined forces with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), propelling the ambitious Drone Didi Yojna into action. This initiative is set to revolutionize the agricultural sector by empowering women with cutting-edge drone piloting skills.

Launching Careers into the Stratosphere: 500 Women to Become Certified Drone Pilots

The collaboration will see two pilot programs take flight at the National Skill Training Institutes in Hyderabad and Noida. These programs aim to skill 500 women, with each batch comprising 20 future pilots, ready to navigate the skies and the future of agriculture.

From Ground to Sky: 15-Day Curriculum Sets Women on Path to Innovation

Endorsed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the 15-day curriculum is meticulously designed to be delivered by expert RPTO instructors. This curriculum is more than just training—it’s a launchpad for women to become pioneers in technology and farming.

The Drone Didi Yojna stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between Mahindra & MSDE, aiming to train an impressive cadre of 15,000 women. These drone pilots will be instrumental in transforming agricultural practices through tasks like fertiliser sowing, crop monitoring, and seed sowing.

Dr. Anish Shah, the visionary Group CEO & MD of Mahindra Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the program, highlighting it as a unique convergence of women, farming, and technology. This initiative is not just about skilling—it’s about preparing the agricultural sector for a technologically advanced future.

Secretary Atul Kumar Tiwari of MSDE underscored the significance of this initiative in the broader context of nation-building. The Drone Didi program is more than an upskilling venture; it’s a movement to empower women in emerging trades, thereby fostering a stronger, more inclusive economy.

The insights gained from these pilot projects will be instrumental for MSDE in amplifying the Drone Didi Yojna across the nation. Furthermore, Mahindra has announced plans to extend this transformative training to its skilling centres in Zaheerabad, Telangana, and Nagpur, Maharashtra, reinforcing its commitment to women’s empowerment and agricultural innovation.
