In 2021, the Defense Ministry of India signed a deal worth Rs 21,935 crore with Airbus Defense and Space, Spain for the supply of 56 C-295 transport aircraft to replace the aging Avro-748 aircraft of the Indian Air Force. Were. Under this contract, 16 aircraft will be delivered fully assembled from Spain, while the remaining 40 aircraft will be assembled at the TASL plant in Vadodara. The first C-295 aircraft to be built in Vadodara will be ready by September 2026. All aircraft manufactured at TASL are scheduled to be delivered by August 2031.
