Veteran singer Asha Bhosle’s team has alerted fans and followers on social media about her fake account on TikTok. TikTok is a social media platform which was banned by the Indian government in 2020 along with 58 other Chinese apps.

On Monday, September 30, Asha Bhosle’s team shared screenshots of the fake profile in the story section of the singer’s Instagram account. He has appealed to people to report fake accounts. Asha Bhosle’s profile picture was posted on this fake account. Not only this, the same display photo is also on the singer’s official Instagram account. The bio of the fake account reads, ‘Only official profile… yours and only yours Asha. Singer since 1943. This fake account has more than 1300 followers.

After his Facebook account was hacked, the Bollywood actor told that when his Facebook account was hacked, he became a victim of cyber crime. He had shared a long post on Instagram, in which he had told about this incident. Referring to the incidents in a detailed post, he wrote, ‘Hello everyone, I would like to inform you that both my public and private Facebook accounts have been hacked, due to which I have recently been deactivated on the platform. All of you pay attention… avoid this type of cyber fraud.

TikTok is banned in India

In 2020, the Indian government banned TikTok along with 58 other Chinese apps, citing national security concerns and data privacy issues. TikTok was extremely popular among Indian youth for its short-form videos. Reportedly, it had more than 200 million users in the country. At the time, the government had argued that the app posed a threat because of the possibility of sharing sensitive data with foreign entities.
