During the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on 8 October 2024, the President of India Draupadi Murmu gave him the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Mithun Chakraborty is very excited after receiving the biggest award in the world of Indian cinema and has also expressed his happiness. Expressing his happiness of receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Mithun Chakraborty said, ‘What can I say, I have not drank it properly yet, I am still in the same hangover. I can only say thank you for receiving such a great honour. Whatever troubles I have endured, God has probably given me back with interest. Mithun Chakraborty has also given a special message for the youth. He said, ‘Look, everyone dreams, I know there are many talented children, but there is a shortage of money, still do not lose courage, do not give up hope, do not stop dreaming.’
