Now, six years after the death of the actress, a square has been built in her name in Mumbai. Last evening on Dussehra, a square in Lokhandwala area of Mumbai has been named Sridevi Chowk after the actress. Sridevi’s husband and producer Boney Kapoor was present on this special occasion. Along with Boney Kapoor, his daughter Khushi Kapoor was also present on the occasion. Shabana Azmi also attended Sridevi Chowk at the time of inauguration.

Sridevi Chowk has been built near Green Acres Towers of Lokhandwala. Sridevi has lived here for many years. A pillar with Sridevi’s picture has been installed at this square. Boney Kapoor looked quite emotional on the occasion of the inauguration of this square. Along with this, her daughter Khushi Kapoor was also seen remembering her mother in a very emotional manner. Boney and Khushi paid tribute to late Sridevi by inaugurating a road junction in her name. Pictures and videos of the event are going viral on social media. In a video posted by a paparazzo on Instagram, Boney can be seen pulling back the cloth covering Sridevi’s picture.
Boney also touches his wife’s picture while Khushi is seen standing near him looking emotional. Sridevi Kapoor Chowk is written on the stone installed in her memory. The inauguration took place on 12 October at 6 pm in which Shabana was also present to show her support. The square is located at a junction near Sridevi’s longtime residence, Green Acres Tower, where she lived for many years before she died in 2018. The place holds emotional significance, and Boney and Khushi looked overwhelmed by the crowd that reached the spot. Jhanvi Kapoor did not attend the inauguration ceremony.
