Big fraud happening on YouTube and WhatsApp, are you also making this mistake?

Many cases of fraud happening through popular platforms like YouTube and WhatsApp have come to light. Recently, an incident of fraud worth lakhs of rupees has taken place in the name of liking YouTube videos. Hackers have committed this fraud in the name of part-time job that gives returns in return for liking videos on social media platforms. According to the report, hackers defrauded a book shopkeeper of more than Rs 56 lakh in the hope of earning easy money.

This is how fraud happened

According to the report, first the hackers gave easy tasks to the book shopkeeper to earn part-time, on completion of which he was paid Rs 123 and Rs 492. The victim shopkeeper got lured by this easily obtained money, after which the scammer committed a big fraud with him. The shopkeeper was given the task of subscribing to a YouTube channel and sending a screenshot. In return he promised to pay him.

After initially receiving two payments, the victim shopkeeper was added to a Telegram group, where he was asked to deposit the money in exchange for higher commission. The shopkeeper got misled by the hackers and invested Rs 56.7 lakh. After giving initial benefits in the name of returns, the hackers ended contact with him. After this the victim shopkeeper realized the fraud that had happened to him.

1. To avoid such fraud, you should keep in mind that all claims of easy earning are hollow. If someone makes such promises to you, you should not get trapped in them.
2. Simple tasks like giving money in exchange for liking videos or posts on social media can be fraud. In such a situation, you should ignore these claims and not get trapped in greed.
3. Avoid joining any unknown groups on apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. These days, cyber criminals are robbing people by using social engineering.
4. First thoroughly investigate the companies claiming part time job, online job, short term investment. Proceed only after doing complete research about it.
5. If you have any doubts, seek advice from friends and family members as well as cyber experts.
6. Do not share your personal information, OTP, password etc. with anyone at any cost.
7. Ignore any such message, e-mail etc. in which promises like free gifts, part time job, double income are being made.
